The main aim of the department for the next four years is an increase in the quality of the transport services and in the limelight we have a development of the railway - Sławomir Nowak, the Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy, said.
- During the first days of holding my office, I have an opportunity to meet the most important part of the department, railwaymen, but I ask you for a discretion, do not tell about it to the automotive transporters and roadworkers – Sławomir Nowak said.

He was one of the guests of the central ceremonies on the occasion of the Railwayman’s Day, which was organized by the Association of the Railway Employers in Warsaw.
- In building industry and road transport a lot has happened in recent years, there is still a lot to correct and improve.

However, now there is time to modernize railway, to increase the speed of the trains and the comfort of the passengers’ journeys - Nowak said. As he underlined, there is a test of the efficiency waiting for all of the railwaymen and it is Winter which is going to be an examiner soon. „I expect that, thanks to the personal motivation and culture of such a numerous group of the railwaymen, you will pass the exam a lot better than in the last year and that satisfied Polish people will say in Spring ‘Thank You’ – the minister added.

This year’s ceremony was taking place under the banner of ‘Together for the railway’- For the first time in the history of the Railwayman’s Day all of the railwaymen take part in it – both from the PKP companies and from the private ones – Krzysztof Mamiński, the chairman of ZPK said, while opening the ceremony.
