Honorary Award ‘Awionetka 2011’ has been presented in Warsaw

In the end of the first conference day the evening Gala Awionetka 2011 was held. The most prestigious honorary awards were presented in five categories: Personage of the Year, The Best Airline of the Year, The Best Airport of the Year, Innovative Solution of the Year and The Most Significant Event of the Year.

Laureates of the Gala Awionetka 2011 are:

1. The Personage of the Year

Marek Serafin – Editor in Chief, PRTL.pl

For lauching and professional managing of the PRTL.pl portal; for initiating new projects thought this portal; for integrating the aviation environment around the problems of air transport development in Poland.

2. The Best Airline of the Year

EnterAir

For building a strong charter airline, registered in Poland; for dynamic development of high quality transport services; for increasing competitiveness in the charter flights market; for providing new vacancies in the Polish aviation market.

3. The Best Airport of the Year

Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport

For dynamic route development; for implementation of important and expensive investments, that improves the standard of airport services; for a skillful cooperation with Zurich Airport in the field of airport development.

4. The Most Significant Event of the Year

Direct flights from Gdansk to Krakow and Wroclaw provided by Eurolot

For meeting the expectations of passengers in increasing availability of direct flights between regional  airports; for skillful use of the possibility of the regional aviation market development (regional airports).

5. The Most Significant Event of the Year

Chopin Airport in Warsaw

For perfect crisis situation management and meeting its high standards, according  to the emergency landing of Boeing 767.

6. The Most Significant Event of the Year – Additional Award

The LOT Polish Airlines crew of flight 16, a Boeing 767 300

For perfect behavior in emergency conditions and flawless fulfillment of standards during the successfully performed emergency belly landing.
