To whom does the passenger belong to? Airports Conference 2011 is taking place in Warsaw. http://www.actiaconferences.com/to-whom-does-the-passenger-belong-to-airports-conference-2011-is-taking-place-in-warsaw.html Various dimension in Airports activities. This is the motto of the 7th edition of the International Airports Conference 2011, which is taking place in the Warsaw Marriott Hotel. The conference gathered over 100 experts and representatives of the aviation market, mainly from the Central and Eastern Europe region. In the evening, conference participants will meet at the 3rd edition of the Awionetka Gala 2011, where the prestigious honorary awards for the Polish aviation market will be presented.

- It is an honor to meet so many distinguished guests and key representatives of the aviation market in one place - with these words Krzysztof Kapis, representative of the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure welcomed the participants of the event. - Airports Conference has a long tradition in Poland, this is the seventh edition of the event. This is an excellent opportunity to examine current practices and discuss all at the challenges that aviation market will face in the future - he added.

Anca Apahidean, representative of IATA (International Air Transport Association), stressed that the aviation market in Central and Eastern Europe is still developing. – Annually the air transportation is worth 6 trillion dollars worldwide. In the CEE region there are over 46 million passengers that use the air transportation and 179,000 tons of cargo transported annually. However, 2011 will not be a good year for air traffic, mainly due to the economic uncertainties in the United States and Europe - Apahidean added.

The first day of the event is focused on "Airport and its environment". Speakers emphasized that the key to success is the excellent cooperation between airlines and airports. Competition is also very important because it allows to improve and implement the best solutions.

During the debate, the participants also wondered, who really make the decision for the passenger. - The passenger decides about himself. He decides from where and how he is going to fly - said Emilia Osewska-Madry from BARIP (Board of Airlines Representatives in Poland). As experience shows, the passengers decisions are based on flight duration, location, available facilities and services.

Further on, during the first day of the conference, participants will be able to take part in interesting discussion panels and the Think-Thank discussion, where they will be exploring the best solutions for new technologies, mobile solutions and IT systems. It will be a unique opportunity to share their expectations and observations with the airports’ representatives.

The most prestigious honorary awards will be presented in five categories: Personage of the Year, The Best Airline of the Year, The Best Airport of the Year, Innovative Solution of the Year and The Most Significant Event of the Year.
