A plan of the the railway investments for the years 2011-2013, which assumes that PKP PLK will realize, during this time, an investment worth 21,5 bln zloty, will not be realized – ‘Rzeczpospolita’ warns.

According to the daily newspaper’s calculation, we have spent about 500 mln zloty on modernization of the railway track so far. By the end of the year the sum will raise to 3,4 bln zloty. Next year another 6 bln zloty will be added.

As the daily newspaper sums up, after spending during two years 9,4 bln zloty, to realize the government assumptions in year 2013, the contractors would have to make out invoices, for the realized works, worth almost 12 bln zloty.

According to the estimates made by Zbigniew Szafrański, a chairman of the PKP PLK, quoted by ‘Rzeczpospolita’, contractor companies are able to realize works connected with the railway track modernization worth up to 7 bln zloty a year. This is where the doubts about the success of the realization of the government plan for the investments for years 2011-2013 come from.
